Travis, have you by chance read Robert Anton Wilson's "The New Inquisition"? It's a fantastic book (which should be required reading for any science, engineering, or philosophy major in my opinion)- that relates to A LOT of the things you were talking about in the speech...

[Science models observation, Quantum Mechanical brain functions, and that any scientist who claims to know things for fact is lying- and that the 'bandwagon' mainstream science establishment is now a theocracy]
